Established in 1985, The Community Drug Advisory Council (CDAC) is a growing NGO with a vision to enhance the well-being of individuals and society through drug prevention education and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle. We are a member of The Community Chest of Hong Kong (Chest) and The Hong Kong Council of Social Service. Supported by Government funds, Chest and private foundations, we run service projects for students and parents with different backgrounds, and provide capacity-building services for practitioners of social and education sectors. We are now seeking an Executive Director with vision and capacity to lead our staff team to provide service in response to the changing needs of the community.

Major Responsibilities:

To lead CDAC to actualize its mission, value, and vision. Duties cover organization administration, service and agency development, as well as advocacy work on drug policy and health promotion.

The successful candidate will report to the Executive Committee to account for the overall management of CDAC.

 

Qualifications:

  • Social work training at degree level is a MUST;
  • Over 5 years of solid managerial experience at the senior level. Proven track record in managing non-government subvented NGOs with successful experience in leading service development in response to community needs;
  • Expertise in drug or related disciplines is an advantage;
  • Strong capacity in leadership skills, communication, organization management, financial planning, human resources administration, and strategic mind;
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English, Cantonese, and Putonghua;
  • Applicants with no experience with social service, drug counselling, or public education will NOT be considered.

We provide various training opportunities, 5-day work, annual leave, and group medical insurance including dental care. The prospective employee is required to undergo Sexual Conviction Record Check.

  • Degree RSWs or non-degree RSWs
  • Less experienced RSWs will deliver workshops, groups and programmes, and assist in communications and networking.
  • More experienced RSWs will assist in service development and drafting funding proposal, and provide staff training.
  • Preferably with experiences in addictions, research, or social media production.
  • Different pay rates will be offered to candidates with different experiences.
